PTS are specialists in the provision of inspection by Non Destructive Testing (NDT). Radiographic, Magnetic Particle, Ultrasonic, Penetrant and Weld Inspection. Positive material Identification, Weld Procedures / Welder Qualifications, Quality Assurance & Consultancy.

Inspections are carried out by our experienced and qualified professional engineers who are approved to both UK and US standards.

Our qualified personnel all hold PCN level 2 and level 3 accreditation, BINDT, LEP, ASNT & CSWIP accredited within a broad range of NDT disciplines.

All work is carried out either on site, or in our laboratories, to suit our client’s needs. PTS have inspection teams qualified in rope access to carry numerous NDT disciplines without the need for scaffolding, suspension platforms and cradles. Following our inspections we produce detailed reports, including drawings and photos, and these can be supplied in whatever form is required.

Our inspection services cover the UK and Europe, including West Midlands, East Midlands, Sheffield, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Staffordshire, Stoke-on-Trent, Manchester and Birmingham.

Permeability Testing

PTS can carry out Magnetic Permeability Testing on a wide range of metallic materials using fully calibrated portable equipment including permeability meters capable of taking extremely accurate and sensitive readings to 0.001µ. Inspection can be carried out either in a workshop, on in service items at sites around the country or at our purpose built laboratory in the Midlands.

Ultrasonic Inspection / Testing (UT)

Ultrasonic inspection is the method of using high frequency sound waves to test for imperfections in metals and other materials. By emitting sound waves into a test object, echos are produced by the sound waves reflecting off inclusions or imperfections in the material itself.
